Senior Accountant
Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and assisting with budgeting, tax preparation, and audits. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain general ledger and oversee accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Manage and monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient funds are available for business operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to summarize and interpret financial transactions.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial discrepancies.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including analyzing variances and providing recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred, but not required.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of tax laws, financial regulations, and auditing processes.
